
Bloomberg kicks off 2-day gun policy summit —
New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg will deliver the opening remarks at the Summit on Reducing Gun Violence in America at Johns Hopkins University on Monday, the one-month anniversary of the Newtown school massacre. Following two days of presentations, Experts from major universities will make suggestions for policies that can help reduce gun violence. Bloomberg is also the co-chair of Mayors Against Illegal Guns.Here's a look at what else CNN is covering this week.

Biden's gun control recommendations —
Vice President Joe Biden on Tuesday will offer a set of recommendations to President Obama on how to curb gun violence. The Newtown school massacre spurred the president's creation of the federal task force.

Lance Armstrong talks to Oprah —
Lance Armstrong will sit down with Oprah Winfrey for his first television interview since being stripped of his Tour de France titles. Winfrey will reportedly ask him to address a U.S. Anti-Doping Agency report that said there was overwhelming evidence that the cyclist doped. The interview airs Thursday.

Theater opens for victims' families —
The Aurora Century 16 movie theater where 12 people were killed and 58 were injured in July by alleged gunman James Holmes is hosting an event for the victims' families on Thursday, a day before it reopens to the public. Some of the relatives of the victims have expressed outrage at the "evening of remembrance."

NHL season slated to begin —
An abbreviated 48-game regular season is set to begin Saturday. The 2012 portion of the schedule was scrapped in a lockout after the players' contracts expired, and no agreement was reached for three months.

Obama starts his second term —
President Barack Obama will take the oath of office on Sunday at noon, officially beginning his second term.
