Blair Waldorf, played by actress Leighton Meester, put headbands on the map when "Gossip Girl" premiered in 2007. Costume designer Eric Daman said he has steered clear of the hair accessory of late, but it'll be back for season 6. "I feel like the headband was such a thing for (Blair) when she was in high school," he said. "We wanted to segue out of it for a little bit. ... It was really kind of an evolution of who she was as a woman. There's a moment when she went to NYU and she took her headband off, and she's like, 'I can't wear these anymore. They're really keeping me down.' " The CW
Daman created this look for Blake Lively's character, Serena, to wear in a fashion show during season 2. "It fit Blake like a glove and it was just one of those moments where I was like, wow, that's really a great dress," he said. The CW
Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick) has gone from "bad boy billionaire to seriously suited business maven," Daman said, adding that his style was inspired by fictional characters Gordon Gekko, of 1987's "Wall Street," and Patrick Bateman, of 2000's "American Psycho." The CW
In place of a headband, a Sherel's hat adorns Blair's head. (The New York-based company even features a picture of Queen B wearing the headpiece on its website.) The rest of Blair's blue look consists of a Diane von Furstenberg jacket, Carolina Herrera dress, Foley + Corinna bag, and Stuart Weitzman heels. The CW
Daman slipped a Marc Jacobs laptop case inside Serena's Jimmy Choo bag, catching the attention of fans and fashion bloggers alike. He also paired her Rag & Bone coat with a Theodora & Callum scarf for a pop of color. The CW
