The young falcon lives with his father, Tendai (Samuel L. Jackson), in a deserted outpost before leaving to explore life in the famed bird city of Zambezia. Triggerfish Animation
He realizes that living in a city can be more difficult but also learns the true values of togetherness and community. Triggerfish Animation
"Zambezia," produced by Cape Town-based Triggerfish Animation Studios, has been chosen to close this year's Durban International Film Festival. Triggerfish Animation
"I want people to sit back and have a fantastic time with the characters and have a fantastic insight into some of the amazing African landscapes that we've put into this film," says "Zambezia" director and co-writer Wayne Thornley. Triggerfish Animation
The concept for the movie originated about seven years ago but production took just over two years to be completed. Triggerfish Animation
The movie started with a team of five people but ended with some 100 people working on it. Triggerfish Animation
Zambezia is targeted at children aged five to 11. Triggerfish Animation
"The film is a wonderful ambassador, in a way, of South Africa and I think as it travels the world it's going to spread the word about an industry that is young and vibrant and extremely talented," says Thornley. Triggerfish Animation
