- The ballroom pro and the singer have called it quits
- Ballas and Toscano agreed to go their separate ways
- Ballas is currently rehearsing with Kristin Cavallari
It looks like Mark Ballas and Pia Toscano have had their last dance.
The ballroom pro and the singer who was shockingly eliminated from "American Idol" have called it quits, a source tells PEOPLE.
Ballas, 25, and Toscano, 22, who started stepping out in April, agreed to go their separate ways after a heart-to-heart talk this week about their demanding careers.
"They both decided with everything going on that they couldn't give each other what would be fair," says the source. "They mutually decided this."
Ballas is currently rehearsing with Kristin Cavallari for the next season of "Dancing with the Stars" starting Monday, and Toscano is finishing an Idol concert tour and has an album coming out.
The split was first reported by E!.
