- President Obama has a new head of the Council of Economic Advisors. Maybe this guy will work out.
- If a conservative were to declare Barack Obama had a militant black agenda or was a communist or what have you (and some have), the media would dismiss them as cranks. But what of the secular reporters from Ryan Lizza to Bill Keller to a host of others who are reporting on Michele Bachmann’s and Rick Perry’s largely mainstream Christianity as if they are in a cult? More fundamentally, the reporters are getting all the facts wrong, for example, claiming Bachmann is a follower of Rushdoony and Francis Schaefer, when Schaefer was largely dismissive of Rushdoony, i.e. hard to follow to people who contradict each other. Perhaps it is not the politicians who need to stay away from religion, but the reporters who know nothing about it. Exit point: why does the media treat evangelical Christianity as some spooky cult intent on imposing theocracy on American when, should a conservative raise these points about Islam, the media would immediately claim the person a bigot?
- Newt Gingrich went home to Georgia to actively campaign for the Georgia GOP straw poll vote in Perry, GA this weekend. He was the only candidate present. He spoke and rallied the crowd. He came in forth behind Herman Cain, Ron Paul, and Rick Perry in that order. Is Gingrich trying to hold on for matching funds? And if so, do matching funds induce candidates to get in and/or keep candidates in far longer than they should stay?

- Reheat: Real estate millionaire Gov. Rick Perry likes his book again and has decided that Social Security is a “ponzi scheme” after all, Gov. Perry’s is hoping, that like Texas chili,, his positions taste better as leftovers.
- Undercooked: The Obama campaign is still stung by the lack of enthusiasm for the 2012 election by Latino voters and now Administration watchers are wondering about the downturn of Hispanic federal hires over the last two years.
