Every day we ask influential politicos to send us their top three bullet points that are driving the day’s conversation inside and outside Washington.
RedState.Com Editor Erick-Woods Erickson:
- For all of the 2008 campaign when the Democrats kept saying George W. Bush would never own up to a mistake, Barack Obama seems very, very unable to accept any responsibility for anything bad happening on his watch. And now the “no blame” game has gotten perverse. Because Barack Obama does not want to accept any responsibility for our economic situation, and instead would prefer to blame his predecessor, George W. Bush, Obama and a lot of his allies in the media also don’t want to give Rick Perry any credit for the Texas economic boom. Considering Rick Perry’s predecessor, I wonder if we should just blame Bush for Texas’s boom?
- I think the Sarah Palin road show is over. She can turn out a crowd and she can raise money. But more and more polls show that if Palin enters the Republican race, she has little impact, even on Michele Bachmann and Rick Perry. She has played the media game masterfully, but I think she has reached the time to fish or cut bait.
- The President still has not come out with his next jobs plan yet, but I predict it will be just like his past few: green jobs and government infrastructure spending. Not only will it not pass Congress, but it will not pass the smell test for the American public.
