- New polling from ABC suggests the GOP is not compromising enough with the Democrats on the budget. Maybe it is because the GOP has yet to articulate a consistent message on the budget.
- More explosions at nuclear plants in Japan and the media coverage of the same will make it more difficult to get nuclear reactors in this country, despite the newest reactors no longer having the problems the Japanese reactors have. How will we ever be energy independent?
- Does the President really need to be seen playing golf and doing basketball brackets right now? I can hear the criticism now if his name were Bush.

- Japan meltdown - This still unfolding disaster keeps compounding. It is the biggest story in the world today and our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Japan.
- Libya moving in the wrong direction - Gadhafi has shifted momentum in his direction, threatening to overwhelm the rebels. The lack of decisiveness on the no-fly zone looks like it will have serious and lasting costs. Sometimes inaction is a decision as well.
- Pressure to stop the rolling CRs - Conservatives are starting to push back on the rolling Continuing Resolutions that stop the government shutdown with Tea Party encouragement. This is exposing fault-lines within the GOP and putting pressure on President Obama to lead on a deficit reduction package.
