9 Nov 2001: Television viewers will have their first chance next week to see David Beckham's amazing new commercial for his first ever video game, ''David Beckham Soccer'' (Rage Software). The commercial features the England Captain and Manchester United star lying topless in a hi-tech operating theatre. Sensors and monitors cover his body to measure his reflexes and a vertical probe scans his body and his brain 'sucking out'' all his football knowledge and transferring it to a cyber David Beckham withpiercing ''android'' eyes and a PlayStation socket in the middle of his forehead. David Beckham joined the 35-strong film crew for an intensive one-day shoot under strict security at a top-secret location, where the James Bond-influenced commercial wasbrought to life. In the quest for advertising perfection, each scene was shot and re-shot until the director was completely happy with the results. Enduring several hours on the hard "operating slab" under the hot lights, David remained in good humour, joking with the crew as they directed his performance, constantly attending to his make up. In between takes, David found time to play with his virtual counterpart as he tackled the training section in his own game, scoring top marks in the Free Kick section - obviously! ''David Beckham Soccer'' is predicted to be one of the best-selling gifts this Christmas and goes on sale on 23rd November. NOTE TO EDITORS: David Beckham Soccer will be available from 23rd November on Sony PlayStation ( 29.99) and Nintendo Game Boy Advance ( 34.99) from Rage Software. http://www.rage.com For further information contact: Deborah Coster or Howard Glover at Barrington Harvey: during office hours 01462 456780 outside office hours 07956 588198 Mandatory Credit: Allsport UK/ALLSPORT
