Venezuela perdió sus derechos en el Mercosur por no haber cumplido con los requisitos establecidos para permanecer en el bloque, según un comunicado del organismo. La canciller Delcy Rodríguez afirmó que se trata de un "golpe de Estado en el seno del Mercosur".
