MICHOACAN, MEXICO: Community self defense group vigilantes have occupied two more towns in the western state of Michoacan where shootouts, roadblocks and the torching of vehicles have been taking place for several weeks. The vigilantes came to violence-torn towns with a simple pitch: Join us and fight back before the cartel kills you. Vigilantes refuse to heed governments calls to disarm and say violence continues in Michoacan while authorities say the security situation in the western state is calm.
