Australian Deputy Prime Minister Warren Truss announced a "refined" search area for missing flight MH370 Thursday. Malaysia, China and Australia announced the new high priority search zone -- 60,000 square km in area -- which is the broader blue area. The main priority area is the orange area in the center. The blue area overlaps is the previous search area and the orange area "is where we think the best prospect of locating the missing aircraft is highest." The area searched to date is 860 square km.
