Offbeat: Chapels on the strip

When most people think of Las Vegas, they think of gambling, booze and strip clubs, not an exciting destination for matrimonial bliss. "Sin City" is not the town's only nickname. Some, like www.Vegas.com, give it the more appealing title of "Wedding Capital of the World." The Web site lists outrageous ceremonies from nearly all the hotels and wedding chapels in town. It's not uncommon to see a blushing bride running through Star Trek the Experience at the Hilton on her way to get married on the bridge of the Enterprise, or a happy couple driving up and down the strip in the backseat of a pink Cadillac, with a cultural icon for a chauffeur. Although most weddings in Las Vegas are not open to the public, who knows where the gambling, good-times spirit will take you? You and your sweetheart might end up taking a real gamble and saying "I do."
