Award-winning author Wayne Drash specializes in stories off the radar of most mainstream journalists. His passion is to tell narratives about life and the unfolding drama of the world we live in. One of his primary beats has become the issue of mental illness in America.
Drash was presented with the Atlanta Press Club's Award of Excellence for digital reporting in 2014 and, in 2012, he was named the nation's second best digital writer by the National Headliner Awards. His first book, "On These Courts," an inspirational story of a former NBA all-star's devotion to at-risk youth received a Christopher Award in 2014 for capturing the best of the human spirit.
Drash holds a degree in English literature from Washington University in St. Louis and a master's degree in journalism from the University of Iowa.
