Nathan McDermott is a reporter and member of CNN's KFILE — the leading investigation team for the social, mobile generation. KFILE is widely praised as a "scoop team," known for breaking news by scouring the internet through research, fact checking, and investigative reporting.

      Prior to joining CNN, McDermott was a political reporter covering the 2016 election for BuzzFeed. There, he became known for unearthing newsworthy archival videos and audio, many of which later went viral.

      McDermott received a bachelor's degree in international studies at American University, and earned a master's degree in journalism from Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism.

      Originally from Houston, Texas, McDermott recently moved from Washington D.C. to New York City, where he currently resides and works.
