    Michael D'Antonio is the author of "The Truth About Trump" and the upcoming "A Consequential President." He has published more than a dozen books on politics, business, religion.

    His works have been noted as "best books of the year" or "editors' picks" by The New York Times, The Christian Science Monitor, Businessweek, The Chicago Tribune and others. The Times called The Truth About Trump "an admirably straight¬forward, evenhanded but nonetheless damning account of Trump's life." The Boston Globe said his book the State Boys rebellion is "a vivid, careful, and ultimately momentous piece of journalism."

    D'Antonio was a member of a Newsday team that was awarded the 1984 Pulitzer Prize for general reporting and has won the Alicia Patterson Fellowship, the First Amendment Award, and the Humanitas Award for his Showtime film, "Crown Heights." He has appeared on many CNN programs including Anderson Cooper 360, New Day, News Room, CNN Tonight with Don Lemon and Reliable Sources.

    Born and raised in New Hampshire, D'Antonio began writing on national affairs in the 1980s as Washington correspondent for the Portland (Maine) Press Herald and as a contributor to the Baltimore Sun. He was a staff writer at Newsday from 1983 to 1990. In addition to his books at films he has written for The New York Times Magazine, Esquire, The Los Angeles Times, The Washington Post, Discover, The Times of London, and Sports Illustrated, among others.
