Audit shows lavish spending at IRS conference

Here is the Treasury Department inspector general's audit of Internal Revenue Service conferences in which the agency spent millions of taxpayer dollars on everything from parody videos to event planners' commissions to guest prizes. The IRS has made some of the IG's recommendations and points out that it hasn't had similarity conferences since 2010 and cut almost $1 billion from its budget since then. Read the related story
