How to use this site
CNN Student News lets you take today's news and make it tomorrow's textbook.
Using the TV show in conjunction with the Web site links your curriculum content to current events, thus enhancing your students' knowledge and increasing their awareness. What they're learning in class is linked to what's happening in the world.
CNNstudentnews.com Main Page
Every day on CNNstudentnews.com, you will find top stories written by CNN journalists, working in collaboration with teachers, that are appropriate in vocabulary and content for middle and high school students. Each story is accompanied by a lesson plan or a shorter "discussion/activity." Click here for details on our lesson plans.
Feel free to print out stories and lesson plans for classroom or other educational uses. You can make copies.
Teacher Resources
Our Teacher Resources page includes educational calendars, teaching tips and the latest news and issues in education.
To help you find information on past news events, we have archived our lessons in six content areas:
World Events/Culture
U.S. History/Government
Science/Technology
Business/Mathematics
Language & Fine Arts/Media
Health/Life Skills
Additionally you can use our "Search" search engine at the top of each page using key terms.
Educational partners
Don't miss the features and supplementary resources from our educational partner, Harcourt (and its many divisions, such as Holt, Rinehart and Winston). Features from these companies will be available on the right side of our home page, and many are also embedded within stories and lesson plans.
