Lesson 1: Get some sleep!
Students will be able to:

  • Explain why they need eight hours of sleep per day.
  • Determine cultural, social, and media influences that prevent them from getting adequate sleep.
  • Analyze their current waking and sleeping patterns, and create a healthier schedule.

Lesson 2: How memory works
Students will be able to:

  • Explain the significance of finding the brain's remembering mechanism.
  • Participate in a memory study using written words and images.

Lesson 3: How the brain works
Students will be able to:

  • Identify the functions of the cerebellum, cerebrum, and brain stem.
  • Create a game that utilizes the primary functions for each of the brain's lobes - frontal, parietal, temporal, and occipital.
