Dave Lieberman
Most guys try and whip something together in their first kitchen in college when they move off campus. Usually their cuisine consists of ingredients you can't pronounce that come straight out of a box, and the end product doesn't really impress. Not so for Dave Lieberman. While he was still in college, Lieberman started a Connecticut public access cooking show -- "Campus Cuisine." He opened his own campus catering service. His shtick: good food that won't break the bank. Now, two cookbooks in and the youngest host ever on the Food Network, Dave is helping college guys actually whip up something eatable in that first kitchen. Something that's easy and fancy-sounding at the same time: celery bleu cheese salad, chicken in BBQ sauce, and poached salmon. Update: Watch the CNN.com Live Video interview
Not only is his show my favorite on the Food Network, but I find him simply ADORABLE. So, I would like to be totally girly, and ask you to ask him if he is single. ;)
Are you single?
Dave, what inspires you to start the "Campus Cuisine" show and how did your catering service take off? Did you had a difficult start with your catering in the beginning? When did you start cooking?
as a young chef, i find it great to see another young person host their own show on the food network. are you planning any other regular tv shows on the network?
I love his show on Food Network and have tried many of his recipes. He seems really down to earth on TV. Please ask him where he gets his ideas for recipes.
Dave, Please comment upon being a personal chef. How did you begin down that road? Was it profitable? Enjoyable? Recommendations to those interested in such a culinary path?
I love watching his show on Food Network. Unfortunately, I can't find it anymore on the schedule. Is he making more for the FN? Where else can I find his show? He's very down to earth, I love his very simple meals for the budget-minded person! Thanks, Dave!
Hi Dave,
I am starting to try cooking on my own and I think its great that you are teaching us young folk to cook! I am very much looking forward to the recipes you have for us to try. *Please remember to include your recipe for poached salmon. Thanks!
Dave- Your show on Food Network is great, but I haven't seen in air for some time. Are new espisodes being taped? I hope so.
How long did you apprenticed in Italy for and how much did that experience influenced you as a chef?
Dave is no longer taping episodes of "Good Deal" for Food Network. His online shows "Eat This" and "Dave Does" are still available online and his Yahoo food show can be found on Yahoo Food.
I love Dave. Wish we could see him more on TV and online. I got the whole scoop on www.foodnetworkaddict.com
My son is a high school senior. What would be the most important skills, in your opinion, that I should make sure he has before he leaves for college? While his younger brother makes risotto for an afternoon snack, this boy has shown no interest in anything beyond microwaveable foods!
I think it's sweet that you've included so many recipes from your family on the show. You've even had some family members on the show as guests! What are your favorite food-related memories from your childhood?
Dave and Giada's show are the only two shows I watch on TV. Why did they take dave's show off from the schedule? Dave's food is fancy, looks so good and easy to make. If food network doesn't offer him a show. Can he move to other network and make new cooking show on TV? does he have any plan to be on TV again? I love his cooking show...
Great idea, Dave. Could you suggest food items that should ALWAYS be in your kitchen? Any microwave recipes?
He is the most underrated chef on foodtv due to cooking meals that won't break the bank for the average person. I'm tire of seeing some chefs say its easy to make a tasty meal and spend $50 or more on a dinner for 2. I'm in Florida and that doesn't fit my budget. I don't see him anymore. Foodtv dropped the ball by not focusing on him for the mainstream modern age group of 18-45 with realistic affordable meals.
Dave Lieberman is what I like to call, a genius. Not too many people have the great personality and charisma that he has. He is impressive because he has proven to be a great chef as well as a great person. College students all over the nation should watch his fantastic show because you can learn many things from it. "Campus Cuisine" has taught millions of people that any bozo in the world can cook. Especially if you have a great teacher like Dave Lieberman. Honestly, if you cant learn from a guy like Dave Lieberman, then you should probably just quit college and go work at a Burger King. His show is so easy to understand because he teaches people how to make fantastic food while saving money at the same time. He is conscientious because he knows that college students need to save some cash and therefore they must make good food at affordable prices. Dave Lieberman is in fact the man. Hopefully his show will last longer than two years and maybe someday I will be able to cook the way he does.
GO DAVE LIEBERMAN!!!! EMERALD HAS GOT NOTHING ON YOU!
Someone already asked my question of whether Dave is single or not...I have a niece I'd like to fix him up with!!! (She can't cook, so she'd be a great match!)
What? I can't believe he's under 30. I love his show, he's quite soothing to watch. How old is he??
