Drawing on Barry Bonds
“Drawing on” works like this: Three I-Report cartoonists offer their unique look at one politically charged subject, and you decide which one hits closest to the mark. This week, our cartoonists take us out to the ballgame by drawing on Major League Baseball’s most controversial figure: Barry Bonds. The San Francisco Giants slugger is closing in on Hank Aaron’s all-time homerun record. Bonds is also a key figure in the BALCO scandal. A number of journalists have alleged that Bonds has used performance-enhancing substances. Bonds denies those claims, and has not been charged with any crime in connection with steroids or the BALCO incident. (Check out the earlier rounds here: "300" , U.S. attorneys, Gas prices, Walter Reed, Academy Awards, Iran and Iraq, Anna Nicole Smith.)
Scroll down to see them all, then let us know which one you like best -- and why -- by posting a comment. Better yet, send your own cartoon response. OK, now we want to hear from you. Tell us which cartoon is best by sending a comment, or better yet, pick up your pen and draw your own take on this week's topic. Monday, April 09, 2007
Caption challenge: The new air force?
Warp CNN caption challenge participants, thanks for jumping at the task of writing funny text for this photo sent in by Ann Tatman-Tyree of Savannah, Georgia.
Using a highly scientific process involving complex logistical algorithms and donuts, we’ve narrowed down a list of four of our favorites from Patrick J. Bell (Savannah, Georgia), SrA Smartypants (Ramstein Air Base), Lindsay (Atlanta, Georgia) and "Dude" (Stafford, Virginia). Now it’s your turn to vote on which one you think is the funniest. As a side note, we wonder what they're putting in MREs these days. |
