Obamavores
Tongue firmly in cheek:
I believe this cartoon is actually a statement about global ecology: fishing, global warming and pollution have so severely impacted our planet’s oceans that the Great White shark population has been forced to seek an alternative, nutritionally inferior but rather abundant food source: presidential wanna-be’s. Al Gore would be proud (and would make a much more filling meal than Obama or Hillary). As always, some thought provoking brush-strokes from Mr. Brixton.
While Obama might not be my number 1 candidate, I do find it telling that he gets criticized for precisely the opposite thing we love to bash Bush with. Bush is an oratorical idiot. He malaprops at the drop of a fish, and has trouble pronouncing even monosylabbic words. Obama, on the other foot, is able to string together words like a master - yet we eye that with suspicion - is he too "slick," too polished, too smart?
I think the country could use someone who can give a speech and look like they mean it.
Great cartoon!
Yes, Obama is well-spoken and raising the kinds of questions and debate points that the Washington insiders continually avoid or spin. Certainly same these folks are hoping to gobble him when he falls into the Potamac, but I think Obama's gonna' hang tough and persevere. He's got a lot of money now, a lot grass-roots devotees, and a general populace that is tired of the same-old, same-old. Let's hope he can blow old Jaws out of the water! |
