'My wonderful husband'
![]() Here is a photo of my wonderful husband, Sgt. First Class Scarborough, who is currently serving proudly in Afghanistan. He is a platoon SGT with the infantry. He and his men are there on a Taliban hunt with the 4/73 Cavalry Division from Ft. Bragg. This picture was taken in April of 2007 in Afghanistan with one of the locals. Enjoy! -- Angela Scarborough of Sanford, North Carolina Thursday, May 17, 2007
'Proud father of two great young men'
![]() Two of my sons are stationed in Iraq. Capt. Benjamin Ausbrooks, a Marine, is a fighter pilot stationed in Haditha. His younger brother Pfc. Perry Ausbrooks, right, is also in Iraq with the U.S. Army. -- (Proud father of two great young men) R. Sandy Ausbrooks of Palm Coast, Florida 'Miss him every minute of every day'
![]() This is my fiance, Cpl. Dallas D. Miller (top, second from the right, wearing glasses) and his squad out at sea. They're all in infantry and will be arriving at Iraq any day. ... My fiance has been out on ship for almost one and a half months. It's been the hardest thing I've ever had to deal with. I won't be able to see him for 6 more months, at least. I pray for him and the other troops every day. I'm waiting for his safe return so that we may get married and begin our lives together with my 8-year-old son in Austin, Texas. I miss him every minute of every day! -- Natalie Hernandez of Lake Forest, California 'Salute my daddy'
![]() Please salute my daddy (Donald Angel, U.S. Army 82nd Airborne Division) and keep him safe. He is on his way to Iraq. I am 5 months old now and when he gets back I will big and strong like him. Please keep him safe and in your thoughts. Love Baby Dakota Angel (My hero is my daddy) -- Michelle and Dakota Angel of Fort Bragg, North Carolina Tuesday, May 15, 2007
'Truly my hero'
![]() I am married to PFC Christopher Berns stationed in Baghdad, Iraq with the 2nd Battalion-69th Armored Regiment, attached to the 3rdBDE, 3rd Infantry Division! He drives an M1A1 Abrams Tank, but they spend a lot of time out of the tanks on patrol! Our first wedding anniversary is coming up in early June! He is truly my hero and I can't wait for him and his fellow soldiers to return home safe and sound! "Speed and Power!" -- Amanda Berns of China Grove, North Carolina Monday, May 14, 2007
Plans to retire when she gets home
![]() This picture is of First Sergeant Randi Hamden, she is currently the First Sergeant for the Phoenix Academy in Taji, Iraq. This is her third deployment and she is scheduled to return the first week of June. She is an incredible, professional and amazing woman that has served with the United States Army for 24 years. She plans on retiring upon her return from Iraq and settling at Fort Riley, Kansas. She is absolutely the best Noncommissioned Officer I have ever served with and we are all so very proud of her and wish her a safe return. She loves watching CNN Headline News and wakes up every morning in Iraq to Robin & Company. She told me it makes her feel close to home to hear your familiar voice. Thank you for everything you do to support all the soldiers fighting the war on terrorism both in Iraq and Afganistan. -- Angela Martin of Manhattan, Kansas Sunday, May 13, 2007
Turning 21 in Iraq
![]() Cpl Verhagen, USMC, is currently deployed to Falluja, Iraq with the 2nd Battalion, Alpha Company, Scout Platoon. His responsibilies include patrolling and monitoring the surrounding areas. This is his 2nd deployment to Iraq and while there he will celebrate his 21st birthday in June. Aaron is a loving, kind, and thoughtful brother, uncle, son, and grandson. He is adored by his 3 older sisters, one of which is serving in Afghanistan with the USAF. Aaron has wanted to be a Marine since he was a little boy, following in the footsteps of our dad. We are proud of his service to our country, and we pray everyday for his safe return home in November '07. Thank you for the opportunity to honor my Brother! Previously you saluted my Sister, Buffie Verhagen. She is featured in Part 2 of "Salute the Troops". My family is proud to have 2 of our own serving this country, and we are thankful there are people like you out there who appreciate them as well! -- Hollie Reno of Kingwood, Texas |
