'We take care of each other!'

This is a picture of my brother, Command Sargent Major Michael Boyd. He is stationed near Ramadi in the Army Reserves with the 478th Engineering Battalion out of Fort Thomas, Kentucky.

This photo was taken the day before New Year's Eve in Anbar Province. He was traveling to visit his Soldiers who were at very remote locations and to be with them for the Holidays. He wanted to let them know they have a family there while they are deployed. In his words, "We take care of each other!"

He is fiercely patriotic, and our family is so proud of him. We know how much he misses his 8 month old son Luke and his wife Becky and we can't wait until he comes home. We love you Mike.

Dear Command Sargent Major Michael Boyd,
I feel truly blessed to know that so many brave men and women like you are protecting the many freedoms that we have. I pray for the safety of all of our troops as well as for the strength of your families. We have not and will not forget what all of you do for this great nation. Keep your heads up and know that in the darkest of nights that God is there with you and He gives you strength to make it through. Thank you....Kyle
Michael...We Canadians stand with you and fight with you. We see you as a hero as much as we see our own. Godspeed.
Every weekday morning on Headline News' Morning Express, anchor Robin Meade and her team do a shout-out to U.S. troops by showing off photos and videos sent in by their loved ones. Tune in every hour between 6 and 10 a.m. to see the salutes on air, or click through the archives on this page.
