As expected, the Desperate Housewives cleaned up. The show picked up 15 nominations for the 57th annual Emmy Awards, including citations for Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman, and Marcia Cross — but Eva Longoria was snubbed again, as she was at the Golden Globes. Also scoring big was Will & Grace, which also earned 15 nods, and Lost, which led among drama series with 12 nominations. The most-nominated shows, however, were the HBO movies The Life & Death of Peter Sellers and Warm Springs, each cited 16 times. HBO was the most nominated network, with 93 nominations.
The nominations were announced by The Sopranos' Michael Imperioli and Still Standing's Jami Gertz Thursday morning at a press conference at the TV Academy's Leonard H. Goldenson Theater in North Hollywood. The Emmy ceremony will air on CBS on September 18.
