2017 Elections

A year into Donald Trump’s presidency, Tuesday’s elections offer the nation a window into how voters view his job performance so far – and how effectively Democrats have corrected the problems that plagued them in 2016 and mobilized a base desperate for victories. The contests, particularly in Virginia, are also expected to set the tone for the 2018 midterms, when Democrats hope to erase Republicans’ 24-seat House majority and the GOP hopes to expand its two-seat advantage in the Senate.
