![]() Readers clamor for new Harry Potter book
September 8, 1999 (CNN) -- Harry's back. With a vengeance. The third Harry Potter book, by Scottish author J.K. Rowling, began flying off U.S. bookshelves Wednesday. In Atlanta one bookstore opened its doors before sunrise to appease a group of children and adults who gathered to grab their own copies of "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban." The first two titles in what will be a seven-book series -- "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" and "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" -- have dominated the bestseller lists for weeks. The stories tell the story of Harry, an orphan who attends The Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry.
