Indonesian domestic helper Rosnani Matsuni says her employers abroad ignored her basic human rights.
Indonesian domestic helper Rosnani Matsuni says her employers abroad ignored her basic human rights.

Indonesian domestic helper Rosnani Matsuni holds traumatic memories from her years working abroad, claiming she was beaten, threatened with her life and "treated like an animal" by her employers.

Having worked for most of the past decade in and around Saudi Arabia, she identifies with the case of fellow Indonesian migrant worker Ruyati bin Satubi, who was executed there by beheading on June 16 for killing her employer's wife, who she says abused her.

Saudi Arabia is suspending the issuance of visas to domestic workers from Indonesia starting Saturday, the latest move in a tit-for-tat game of economics and human rights. The statement came days after the Indonesian government declared it will refuse to allow its citizens to go to Saudi Arabia until human rights conditions there improve. Indonesia issued its moratorium policy, effective August 1, after the Gulf kingdom beheaded Satubi. Read more...

We do know the human rights, it's part of our Islam , but unfortunately we still have ppl who treat others like crap because of their personalty.
Am not defending my ppl but if an employe do not like it they hav e the right to call the embassy or even the police and from what I understand from some workers that they are given an emergency number before coming to work abroad.
We heard about this story cuz of the execution, but did you all hear about the one who tosted her employes baby in the oven or the one who slatherd her 9 year old girl or the one who rapid 4 yer old boy And more scary stories. they have a problem and we have a problem all we need is good soled rules.

Whoever has done this is a barabrian, those who lived back in Stone Age. I think Saudi government should educate his people by force to enter school. Their teachings must not be limited to Islamic culture. It should be universal as they have migrant workers who are educated. They are a rich country why they are so LAZY to go to schools? In Middle East, labor violations is rampant. I don't know why UN can't interven in these situations. Who is afraid of what?? Please for God's sake, UN should rescue migrant workers who are abused daily in Middle East. All countries must be inspected and sought justice please,
