Tehran, Iran (CNN) - Iran is prepared to resume talks over its nuclear program but will wait until late August as punishment for recently imposed U.N. sanctions, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Monday.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says Monday that Western powers should put 'their bullying policies aside.'
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says Monday that Western powers should put 'their bullying policies aside.'

The outcome of the talks will depend on whether Western powers hold Israel to the same standards over its nuclear program, Ahmadinejad said at a news conference.

"Western countries have no problems with Israel's nuclear bombs," Ahmadinejad said.

The U.N. Security Council imposed additional sanctions on Iran in early June, expanding an arms embargo and tightening restrictions on financial and shipping enterprises related to "proliferation-sensitive activities."

The 12-2 vote with one abstention came after the United States and other Security Council members expressed their concern over Iran's lack of compliance with previous U.N. resolutions on ensuring the peaceful nature of the nation's nuclear program.

The resolution on further sanctions was introduced by France, Germany, the United Kingdom and the United States. Brazil and Turkey voted against the measure and Lebanon abstained.

The United States pressured some nations to vote against Iran, Ahmadinejad said at Monday's news conference.

The Security Council also asked the U.N. secretary-general to create a panel of experts to monitor implementation of the sanctions.

Iran has disavowed any intentions of developing nuclear weapons and says its program is for peaceful purposes.

"Western countries should put their bullying policies aside," Ahmadinejad said Monday.

The Iranian president questioned the motives of the United States and others who want negotiations. And he discounted that concerns over Iran's nuclear ambitions are the sole reason for the sanctions.

"They would have found another pretext if it wasn't for the nuclear pretext," he said.

* The goal should be:
Replacing the Iranian theocratic regime with the help of Iranian people*

Stopping NUC will not end their object of Islamic Shia type worldwide domination
It will only delay their actions
The NUK is only a tactical tool

1: Iran ideology:
Export Islam until the world will be one caliphate
For the last 30 years Iran leaders are declaring:
The final battle has begun-Iran will be the only survival and rule the world– Iran is preparing for the final battle
In lectures delivered by Prof Bernard Lewis, number 1 expert on Islam world wide, he warns of the apocalyptic mindset of the Iranian leaders
2: Iran anti liberalism and democracy ideology: saying that liberal democracy is on its last legs
3: Iran is the main terror supporter for the last 3 decades
4: Iran policy to non Islamic religions example.
Teachers were convicted of the crime of teaching Bahai religion and hanged up
5 ;Women lows
*Virgin women to be executed is raped by a guard ahead execution
*A husband can kill his adulterous wife without punishment while a woman is punishable by death

Unfortunately president Obama plays Chamberlain policy resulting:

1:N/. Korea is aggressive as never before
2:Turkey is not folloing Ataturk legacy -Erdugan joins the Islamist club
3:Iran opposition was not supported by Obama and the Islamist grip has increased
4:Islamist aggression in Yemen. Somalia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Hamas, Hisbula in Lebanon, and terror by individuals in USA and worldwide are on the rise

Fred Brun   June 30th, 2010 7:56 am ET

When the socalled Western countries hold Israel to the same standards as Iran then maybe their position would have some relevance and resonate a sense of fairness in the World.
I would like to see the world nuclear free but that is like asking the Zionists and Islamists to make peace. It's not going to happen!

Eric Bochene   June 30th, 2010 4:38 pm ET

Ahmedinejad is the most intelligent & sincere individual as far as so-called "world leaders" go.

Eric Bochene   June 30th, 2010 4:40 pm ET

what a dolt!

sorry... the biggest "terrorist" states are the USA, the UK and Israel. Russia, China France and Germany aren't too far behind.

See dolt... if ya wanna play the "terrorist/terrorism" card.... this what you are gonna receive... dolt!

Ariely, you are politically immature to say the least.

The clear goal should be to leave other nations and societies alone to manage their own affairs. Especially nations such as Iran who have not started any wars for over 1000 years. But nasty people like you Mr Airely prefer to spout hatred about Muslims in an attempt to have Americans fight for Israels ambition to further expand into its neighbors territory.

The only time the international community should intervene is when one state attacks a much smaller and defenceless state or when one state repeatedly breaks international law. By that measure only one country needs to be bombed and that is Israel.

But Airely do you watch the stock market? Don't you know Americas economically broke and a new middle east war will push up the price of oil and destroy what left of American businesses. But then again the Israeli lobby has repeatedly proved itself to be too dumb and selfish to care about America or anyone else.

But as I said before Airely, just keep on spouting your radicle hatred for Muslims. Thats all you can accomplish with your wretched life?

John A   June 30th, 2010 5:11 pm ET

Airely, you were also pro attack Iraq & Afghanistan. What did you achieve there. Did you make the world a safer, happier place. NO!

Remember Airely, any idiot can drop the first bomb on its neighbors. But historically that has never improved any situation. Tell me the last time a country started a war and went on to make the world a better place? Starting a war with Iran is no different. Waste of lives, time, emotion and money.

And after all the effort you will realize that you have changed nothing just like Iraq. Oh but you don't really care about security do you. After all your hateful rants only express one thing. You enjoy seeing Muslims die. How will your Jewish God greet you when you die Airely?

Abrahem   June 30th, 2010 5:50 pm ET

IT IS dangerous to prophesy in such matters, especially when we are dealing with people not all of whom are wise and not all of whom are sane. Yet I am ready to maintain: there is no possibility whatsoever that the government of Israel will send the air force to attack Iran.

I am not going to enter into military matters. I want to focus on another aspect: is it politically feasible? What would be the consequences?

FIRST OF ALL, a basic rule of Israeli reality: the State of Israel cannot start any large-scale military operation without American consent.

Israel depends on the US in almost every respect, but in no sphere is it more dependent than in the military one.

The aircraft that must execute the mission were supplied to us by the US. Their efficacy depends on a steady flow of American spare parts. At that range, refueling from US-built tanker aircraft would be necessary.

The same is true for almost all other war material of our army, as well as for the money needed for their acquisition. Everything comes from America.

In 1956, Israel went to war without American consent. Ben-Gurion thought that his collusion with the UK and France was enough. He was vastly mistaken. One hundred hours after telling us that the “Third Kingdom of Israel” had come into being, he announced with a broken voice that he was going to evacuate all the territories just conquered. President Dwight Eisenhower, together with his Soviet colleague, had submitted an ultimatum, and that was the end of the adventure.

Israels Bellicose Threats Against Iran 090310banner1

Since then, Israel has not started a single war without securing the agreement of Washington. On the eve of the Six-day War, a special emissary was sent to the US to make sure that there was indeed American agreement. When he returned with an affirmative answer, the order for the attack was issued.

On the eve of Lebanon War I, Defense Minister Ariel Sharon rushed to Washington to obtain American consent. He met with Secretary of State Alexander Haig, who agreed – but only on condition that there would be a clear provocation. A few days later there just happened to be an attempt on the life of the Israeli ambassador in London, and the war was on.

The Israeli army’s offensives against Hezbollah (“Lebanon War II”) and Hamas (“Cast Lead”) were possible because they were cast as part of the American campaign against “Radical Islam”.

Ostensibly, that is also true for an attack on Iran. But no BECAUSE AN Israeli attack on Iran would cause a military, political and economic disaster for the United States of America.

Since the Iranians, too, realize that Israel could not attack without American consent, they would react accordingly.

As I have written here before, a cursory glance at the map suffices to indicate what would be the immediate reaction. The narrow Hormuz Strait at the entrance of the Persian (or Arabian) Gulf, through which a huge part of the world’s oil flows, would be sealed at once. The results would shake the international economy, from the US and Europe to China and Japan. Prices would soar to the skies. The countries that had just begun to recover from the world economic crisis would sink to the depths of misery and unemployment, riots and bankruptcies.

The Strait could be opened only by a military operation on the ground. The US simply has no troops to spare for this – even if the American public were ready for another war, one much more difficult than even those of Iraq and Afghanistan. It is even doubtful whether the US could help Israel to defend itself against the inevitable counter-stroke by Iranian missiles.

The Israeli attack on a central Islamic country would unite the entire Islamic world, including the entire Arab world. The US, which has spent the last few years laboring mightily to form a coalition of “moderate” Arab states (meaning: countries governed by dictators kept by the US) against the “radical” states. This pack would immediately become unstuck. No Arab leader would be able to stand aside while the masses of his people were gathering in tumultuous demonstrations in the squares.

All this is clear to any knowledgeable person, and even more so to the American military and civilian leaders. Secretaries, generals and admirals have been sent to Israel to make this clear to our leaders in a language that even kindergarten kids can understand: No! Lo! La! Nyet!

IF SO, why has the military option not been removed from the table?

Because the US and Israel like it lying there.

The US likes to pose as if it can hardly hold back the ferocious Israeli Rottweiler on its leash. This puts pressure on the other powers to agree to the imposition of sanctions on Iran. If you don’t agree, the murderous dog could leap out of control. Think about the consequences!

What sanctions? For some time now, this terrifying word – “sanctions” – has been bedeviling everybody on the international stage. They are going to be imposed “within weeks”. But when one inquires what it is all about, one realizes that there is a lot of smoke and very little fire. Some commanders of the Revolutionary Guards may be hurt, some marginal damage inflicted on the Iranian economy. The “paralyzing sanctions” have disappeared, because there was no chance that Russia and China would agree. Both do very good business with Iran.

Also, there is very little chance that these sanctions would stop the production of the bomb, or even slow it down. From the point of view of the Ayatollahs, this effort is the prime imperative of national defense – only a country with nuclear arms is immune from American attack. Faced with the repeated threats by American spokesmen to overthrow their regime, no Iranian government could act differently. The more so since during the last century, the Americans and the British have repeatedly done exactly that. Iranian denials are perfunctory. According to all reports, even the most extreme Iranian opponents of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad support the acquisition of the bomb and would rally behind him if attacked.

In this respect, the Israeli leadership is right: nothing will stop Iran’s endeavor to obtain a nuclear bomb except the massive employment of military power. The “sanctions” are childish games. The American administration is talking about them in glowing terms in order to cover up the fact that even mighty America is unable to stop the Iranian bomb.

WHEN NETANYAHU & Co. criticize the inability of the American leaders to act against Iran, they answer in the same coin: you, too, are not serious.

And indeed, how serious are our leaders about this? They have convinced the Israeli public that it is a matter of life and death. Iran is led by a madman, a new Hitler, a sick anti-Semite, an obsessive Holocaust-denier. If he got his hands on a nuclear bomb, he would not hesitate for a moment to drop it on Tel Aviv and Dimona. With this sword hanging over our heads, this is no time for trivial matters, such as the Palestinian problem and the occupation. Everyone who raises the Palestinian question in a meeting with our leaders is immediately interrupted: Forget this nonsense, let’s talk about the Iranian bomb!!

But Obama and his people turn the argument around: if this is an existential danger, they say, please draw the conclusions. If this matter endangers the very existence of Israel, sacrifice the West Bank settlements on this altar. Accept the Arab League peace offer, make peace with the Palestinians as quickly as possible. That will ease our situation in Iraq and Afghanistan and free our forces. Also, Iran would have no more pretext for war with Israel. The masses of the Arab world would not support it anymore.

And the conclusion: If a new Jewish neighborhood in East Jerusalem is more important to you than the Iranian bomb, the matter is clearly not really so critical for you. And that, with all due modesty, is my opinion, too.

THE DAY before yesterday a correspondent of Israel’s popular Channel 2 called me and asked, in a shocked voice: “Is it true that you have given an interview to the Iranian news agency?

“That’s true,” I told her. The agency mailed me some questions about the political situation, and I answered.

“Why did you do this?” she asked/accused.

“Why not?” I replied. That was the end of the conversation.

And indeed, why not? True, Ahmadinejad is a repulsive leader. I hope that the Iranians will get rid of him, and assume that this will happen sooner or later. But our relations with Iran do not depend on one single person, whoever he may be. They go back to ancient times and were always friendly – from the time of Cyrus until the time of Khomeini (whom we provided with arms to fight the Iraqis.)

In Israel, the portrayal of Iran nowadays is a caricature: a primitive, crazy country, with nothing on its mind but the destruction of the Zionist state. But it suffices to read a few good books about Iran (I would recommend William Polk’s “Understanding Iran”) which describe one of the oldest civilized countries in the world, which has given birth to several great empires and made a remarkable contribution to human culture. It has an old and proud tradition. Some scholars believe that the Jewish religion was profoundly influenced by the ethical teachings of Zoroaster (Zarathustra).

Whatever the rantings of Ahmadinejad, the real rulers of the country, the clerics, conduct a cautious and sober policy, and have never attacked another country. They have many important interests, and Israel is not among them. The idea that they would sacrifice their own glorious homeland in order to destroy Israel is ludicrous.

The simple truth is that there is no way to prevent the Iranians from acquiring a nuclear bomb. Better to think seriously about the situation that would be created: a balance of terror like the one between India and Pakistan, the elevation of Iran to the rank of a regional power, the need to start a sober dialogue with it.

What is the post WW2 history lesson?

What people should do when such ideologies are gaining momentum?

Everyone is invited to post his ideas
Dr. Serge Trifkovic documents the similarities between Islamism and Nazism in his book:

"The Sword of the Prophet "

He noted parallels in both ideologies:
1: quest for world dominance
2: demand for the total subordination of the free will of the individual
3: belief in the abolishment of the nation-state in favor of a "higher" community (in Islam the umma or community of all believers; in Nazism, the herrenvolk or master race
4: and belief in undemocratic governance by a "divine" leader (an Islamic caliph, or Nazi führer).
5: anti-Semitism
People that don’t agree to the above points are invited to explain what and why is incorrect

America now suspects that Israeli agents faked evidence that Iran was attempting to build nuclear weapons.

Back in December, 2009, a story published by The Sunday Times warned that Iran was in the process of developing a neutron initiator, the component of a nuclear bomb that triggers an explosion. “Foreign intelligence agencies date them to early 2007, four years after Iran was thought to have suspended its weapons programme,” Catherine Philp wrote for the British newspaper. “An Asian intelligence source last week confirmed to The Times that his country also believed that weapons work was being carried out as recently as 2007.”

As it turns out the story about Iran’s supposed nuclear trigger was not provided by Asian intelligence but more likely the Israeli government with possible help by the British.

“U.S. intelligence has concluded that the document published recently by the Times of London, which purportedly describes an Iranian plan to do experiments on what the newspaper described as a ‘neutron initiator’ for an atomic weapon, is a fabrication, according to a former Central Intelligence Agency official,” reports IPS. “Philip Giraldi, who was a CIA counterterrorism official from 1976 to 1992, told IPS that intelligence sources say that the United States had nothing to do with forging the document, and that Israel is the primary suspect. The sources do not rule out a British role in the fabrication, however.”

The bogus claim prompted a new round of support for more aggressive U.S. and European sanctions against Iran. It also underscored a U.S. intelligence report in 2007 concluding that Iran had conducted secret research on building a nuclear weapon until 2003, when its leaders stopped the effort in response to international pressure, according to the Washington Post. European and Middle Eastern analysts claim Iran resumed a nuclear weapon research in 2005.

In lead up to the invasion of Iraq in 2003, the Bush regime and its coterie of neocons invented a series of stories claiming Saddam Hussein had developed weapons of mass destruction. The Bush neocons worked closely with journalist Judith Miller of the New York Times to persuade the American public that Iraq had WMD. Miller’s story about an intercepted shipment of aluminum tubes said to be used to develop nuclear material was followed up with television appearances by Colin Powell, Donald Rumsfeld and Condoleezza Rice who referenced the fallacious story as part of the basis for invading and occupying Iraq.

The Bush neocons also floated a story about two trailers captured in Iraq by Kurdish troops they said were mobile biological weapons factories. In fact, the trailers were for manufacturing hydrogen for weather balloons. Secretary of State Colin Powell told the United Nations Security Council the trailers were evidence Iraq was developing biological weapons.

On July 1, Obama signed a new sanctions bill against Iran aimed at “striking at the heart” of that country’s assumed ability to develop nuclear weapons. “It’s a move the President says he did not seek, but one the Iranian government brought on themselves,” writes Jake Tapper for ABC News. “Mr. Obama says the United States and the international community will continue to increase their efforts to keep nuclear weapons out of the hands of Tehran.”

In 2006, a classified draft CIA assessment found no evidence of a secret drive by Iran to develop nuclear weapons. “The CIA found no conclusive evidence, as yet, of a secret Iranian nuclear-weapons program running parallel to the civilian operations that Iran has declared to the International Atomic Energy Agency,” journalist Seymour Hersh wrote for The New Yorker.

Earlier this year, U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency Chief Lt. Gen. Ronald Burgess said there is scant evidence Iran is building nuclear weapons. “The bottom line assessments of the [National Intelligence Estimate] still hold true,” Burgess said. “We have not seen indication that the government has made the decision to move ahead with the program.”

Israeli Brigadier-General Uzi Eilam said he believes Iran is not currently capable of developing a nuclear weapon and added that Israel officials who talk about an Iranian nuke within the year are “ridiculous” and asked “where’s the proof?” Eilam is former director-general of Israel’s Atomic Energy Commission.

Abrahem, aka Uri Avineri,

See my comments elsewhere.

miriam   July 4th, 2010 7:28 am ET

John A,

Since you bring up the topic of hate, you are so blinded by your hatred of Israel and Judaism (having stated several months ago that you abandoned Christianity because it was based on Judaism), you have no idea how rediculous your comments are.

In defence of world peace, a world without war, social utopia, and praise of ancient civilization, you promote the power of terrorism, suppression of human rights, dictatorship, anarchy and Islamic imperialism, along with annihilation of Israel and genocide of the Jews, followed by the rest of western and eastern civilization.

If you achieve your objectives you will be on the wrong side of history but I guess that's no big deal since history can be revised so easily.

Fred Brun   July 5th, 2010 4:24 pm ET

Your fall back to defend your vision of hate against the world is the holocaust and anti Semitism. Jews are not the only ones who suffered attempted genocide and serious state sponsored murder. There are many examples in history. Russia suffered state murder of its citizens and neighbours at a far greater scale than that of the Nazis. The Chinese out did their neighbours the Russians and everyone else. The genocide by the Europeans, British and American governments of native populations by the 100’s of millions in Africa, Asia, North/South America is well documented. There is no holocaust museum for blacks or natives in the US. These native populations, who owned huge areas geographically, were all murdered by force of arms. The murderers made up laws to justify their insanity. They interpreted or changed laws as they saw fit. These populations live in abject poverty on what were once their lands for thousands of years. This is now the reality of the Palestinians. They suffer from state terrorism as any people before them in history. You claim self defence to justifying killing tens of thousands of civilians, like so much road kill on your highways. There is a sense of arrogance of a people who have military power now and they can abuse a civilian population at will. Think of how history changes that very quickly.

miriam   July 6th, 2010 8:03 pm ET

Unfortunately, Jews have been the victims of hate and genocide for centuries, the Holocaust arguably the worst, but also still a living memory.

Any nation who has had a third of its population wiped out could also build memorials and use the tragic experience as an educational tool to prevent further genocides.

There is no state terrorism against the Palestinians. You have the reality reversed.
It is the Hamas Charter that promotes terrorism and genocide and the statements of Fatah leaders that prove that their target to destroy Israel has not changed.

Denial of Jewish history, diminishing the Holocaust and disseminating a false Palestinian narrative of their history and modern experience is not just arrogant, but deceptive and dishonest.,

John A   July 8th, 2010 5:26 pm ET

Fred, how do you know when Jews can't justify their behavior, or when a Jew has been caught acting illegally, or when a Jew has been caught lying?

They call their critics anti Semitic.

miriam   July 11th, 2010 9:08 am ET

John A,

Prove that you are not anti-semitic.

After all, you have told us all how you reject your Christianity because it is based on Judaism!

How do you describe that then?
Certainly not philo-semitism.

John A   July 11th, 2010 10:36 am ET

Funny Miriam, Rejecting man made stories which pose under the name of religion does not make me anti Semitic.

Israel practices ethnic cleansing, demolition, aerial bombardment of unarmed civilians, forging passports, murder of aid workers, assassinations and spies on those who have supported her. What has this to do with God and Judaism.

Obviously Israel has nothing to do with Judaism. It is a country founded on the belief of racial supremacy and its a nation which has broken international law for 60 years (ever since Israel was imposed on the world)

Despising the evil of Zionist Israel is not a matter of being anti Semitic or atheist. Despising the crimes of Israel has everything to do with wanting a better world and being repulsed by the murder and illegal occupation committed by Zionists.

!!!! Some commentators claim – Israeli racist or Apartheid ???
- Part 1: Compare Israel and Arabs/Iran-
- Part 2: Compare Jewish and Arab contribution to anti apartheid
Apartheid is a policy that institutionalized separation and differential status of racially defined
- PART 1
In Israel
– Despite being under nonstop Arabs and recently Iran attacks for over 80 years (Unprecedented in modern history):
(Remember what UK has done with UK citizens of German origin and USA with Americans citizens of Japanese origin on WW2- Israel doesn’t treat their Arab citizens similar to UK and USA)

Status in Israel by low and daily practice:
All citizens are:- Equal by low–Full political rights – Universal Human rights –Protect religious freedom –Citizens express freely –Women equality–Social rights equality–Share equally all public infrastructures
In Arab countries and Iran ??

*Iran- more than 200 gays have been executed
*Syria- Based on the Arab dhimma low Syria imposed -red marked ' Jew" identity cards-word JEW to be displayed on shops-could not obtain driver's license, telephone, sell or buy property
* daily Al-Ayyam, October 25, 2008
Christians are being persecuted not only in Iraq, but in most Arab countries, regardless of their numbers there. They are subjected to every possible kind of discrimination, as well as expulsion. Today, this problem is also rampant in Egypt, Lebanon, Algeria, and Palestine
*Arabs volunteered to Nazi army -approximately 40000 in Balkan divisions
*Example of Iran policy to non Islamic religions:
Teachers were convicted of the crime of teaching Bahai religion and hanged up
* Jordan low of punishing by death the ones sailing land to Jew
* Sudan- tens of thousands slaves have been set free after Christian charity organizations played $ to the salve owners
*Iran Women lows
*Virgin women to be executed is raped by a guard ahead execution
*A husband can kill his adulterous wife without punishment while a woman is punishable by death
* Saudi Arabis gender apartheid
* Abd Al-Bari 'Atwan, interview aired on BBC Arabic TV on November 7, 2008:

- Part 2
Examples of Jewish anti rasist and apartheid actions:

*Helen Suzman a SA Jew for 13 years the only MP to condemn apartheid was twice-nominated for Nobel Peace Prize
SA leaders said that they owed her an enormous debt in the struggle against apartheid
* Jews Goodman and Schwerner and a black Chaney, civil rights working to register black voters -MURDERED IN MISSIPPI BY MEMBERS OF THE KU KUX KLAN 1964
*Rabbi Gendler of Great Barrington -JAILED 1962 IN ALABNLY WITH MARTIN LUTHER KING for protesting segregation practices

Examples of Arabs /Iran anti apartheid actions:

!!!! Sorry- I couldn't find any example !!!!!

Britain and the US did not believe Iraq’s weapons programmes posed a “substantial threat” before launching the 2003 invasion that overthrew Saddam Hussein, the inquiry into the war heard today.

Former UK diplomat Carne Ross claimed that the Government “intentionally and substantially” exaggerated its assessment of Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction (WMD) in public documents.

Mr Ross, who was First Secretary responsible for the Middle East at the UK’s mission to the United Nations from 1997 to 2002, alleged that nuanced intelligence was “massaged” into “more robust and terrifying” statements about Saddam’s supposed WMD.

He said in a statement to the inquiry: “It remains my view that the internal Government assessment of Iraq’s capabilities was intentionally and substantially exaggerated in public Government documents during 2002 and 2003.

Sharon   July 12th, 2010 10:36 pm ET

Lets face it, you can trust Iran just as much as you can trust the US government.

Sharon   July 12th, 2010 10:39 pm ET

“When did Israel threaten there neighbors with nukes?”……..Dear Morons & Zionist cover up monkeys? The very possession of nukes is a threat. Israel started this escalation of nuclear weapons in the Middle-East. No one with a brain buys thid Zionist garbage. It’s way past Miriams bed time there in Tel aviv (Tel-a-lie).

Peter   July 12th, 2010 10:51 pm ET

Without nuclear weapons any country can become the next Palestine, Iraq, Afghanistan. Remember the words of Saint Ronald the Reagan, about mutual assured destruction? Well it kept the peace between The U.S. and Russia.
America needs to send Israel back to it’s 67 border, thats enough stolen land for them. Peace in the Middle East will come through Palestine.

miriam   July 13th, 2010 9:40 am ET

John A,

Rejecting, mocking, and speaking hate against a religion and the people who practise it can be defined as anti-semitic if that religion is Judaism.

Similarly, falsely criticizing a people for violating misunderstood and misinterpreted Jewish beliefs even while dismissing those beliefs as primitive is rather contradictory and demonizatory.

The hope for a better world will not be achieved by subjecting the Jewish state which adheres to international law, grants equal rights to her citizens, has an independent, internationally recognized judiciary, is a fervent democracy with a free media and freedom of expression and a wide range of rights groups, protects her citizens from indiscriminant terrorist attacks, sends aid to victims of natural disasters even in states which refuse diplomatic relations, etc, to double standards.

What does that do to persuade the real murderers, occupiers, terrorists, racists, suppressors, repressors. international law and human rights violators, media restrictors etc in this world?

It tells them that what they are doing is all good and accepable and they can continue killing and abusing their citizens and the citizens of other nations.

The more you single out the Jewish state for baseless criticism and hate, the further away we get from a better world.

Fred Brun   July 14th, 2010 8:01 am ET

John very true. Miriam's version of history centers on her tribe denying the facts and simply calling everyone an anti -Semite who have contrary versions of her righteous history. The facts are that there have been many people who have suffered genocide that was state sponsored; here I list only a few examples. 7 million Ukrainians died in a Russian state sponsored famine in 1932-33, of which 3 million were children. In 1915, 1.5 million Armenians were murdered, only 3 million remained worldwide. From 1885 -1900 up to 30 million people were killed in the area that is today’s Congo, on the order of the Belgian Government. Tens of millions of Native Americans were killed on the orders of the American, Spanish, French and English Governments.
These tragic killings were all state sponsored, resulting in more than 30% of their respective populations and there are many more examples..
The killings continue. So much for Miriam’s facts.

miriam   July 14th, 2010 12:35 pm ET

John A,

Have you only just woken up?

The Iraq War Inquiry has been going on for months with a whole myriad of opinions and versions of events.

miriam   July 14th, 2010 12:42 pm ET

Who said no other people had seen large proportions of their populations killed?

My comment was in response to your evident boredom, probably rooted in guilt, with the Holocaust.

The Jews have kept the tragedy in the news in an attempt to prevent the future genocides, as well as a memorial to the victims.

miriam   July 14th, 2010 4:33 pm ET

Go ahead and trust Iran!

Support the murder of dissenters, the execution of juveniles, the suppression of speech, the denial of gay rights and even their existence, the deliberate violation of international agreements it is signatory to, the open call for genocide etc etc.

If I were you, I would worry about the nuclear weapons of India and Pakistan rather than singularly focusing on the supposed nuclear capabilities of Israel.

Ambiguity has proven to be an effective deterrent for over 40 years and has prevented a nuclear arms race in the ME. Iran's desires for nuclear weapons has little to do with Israel and everything to do with a global Islamic Caliphate.

John A   July 15th, 2010 12:13 pm ET

Miriam, Sharon was talking about Iran. I think you have confused this with radicle Israel. You remember? Israel is the country which occupies other peoples countries with its military.
Israel is the only country with nukes in the middle east.
Israel is the only country which executes aid workers in international waters.

Surely you remember now? No! Okay, how about assassinations,
how about Rachel Corey,
how about USS Liberty,
how about spying on America.
how about starving Gaza
how about bombing Gaza

Do you remember now? Its Israel which has caused all the trouble. The worst thing about Israel is the Jews get blamed. Do you think the Zionist movement could be an anti semitic movement designed to make the Jews look like thugs?

Israel has made Jews look like mad men. Its so unfair. After all Jews haven't lived in Israel for 2000 years, so those raving mad Israeli Zionists having nothing to do with the Jewish religion.

and no falsification of history, john antisemitic A will change that!!!!

John A   July 15th, 2010 7:19 pm ET

Proud Zionist, I appreciate you were not schooled in facts.
Maybe you will find it interesting that the first democratically elected leader of Iran was over thrown by the CIA because he didn't want to give his oil away to the USA and the UK. He actually wanted the west to pay for what they take!!

After the president was removed, the Americans placed the puppet Shah on the thrown of Iran and America kept its cheap oil supply.

This is fact and declassified fact admitted by the CIA.
If you really want to know what terror is, look in the mirror, look at your own country. Otherwise you are free to remain ignorant and spew BS.

You mentioned: 'Unfortunately, Jews have been the victims of hate and genocide for centuries, the Holocaust arguably the worst, but also still a living memory".

My comments reflect that historically the Holocaust was not the worst form of geocide by far, however tragic an even thus exposing your big lie.

Your hate of Muslims and Christians is evident in every blog of yours.

I have no guilt whatsoever since I don't belong to a society ythat murders civilians on a daily basis.

miriam   July 16th, 2010 11:56 am ET

Read what I wrote. The Holocaust was arguably the worst genocide against the Jews.

I do not hate Christians, Jews or Muslims, nor those who practise any other religion.

It is obvious that you you do not read my blogs or that you are trying to find something that does not exist.

Perhaps you have no guilt, but there is certainly evidence of psychologically projective obsession.

Samantha   July 16th, 2010 6:18 pm ET

Miriam, in essence Fred is right. What he is referring to is your own self centered view of the world.

Many people have been persecuted more than the Jews. For example the Palestinians. Jews were rescued by the west after 5 years of Nazi hell. Palestinians have been under Zionist hell for 60 years and the west actually supplies the weapons to keep it that way.

Miriam I hope there is reincarnation and that you return to this world as a Palestinian. You will live under curfew, have Israeli military watch towers looking into your garden, unable to leave town and stand a good chance of having a corrupt Israeli courts hand the property you built with your own hands to a Jewish immigrant who just got of the boat! You wont be able to protest, because that will be called terrorism and the Jewish people empowered by their American guns will laugh when your children have no schools, medicine and food.

Yes Miriam, you really deserve this reincarnation to pay for your blind selfish arrogance.

Fred Brun   July 17th, 2010 7:18 pm ET

"There is certainly evidence of psychologically projective obsession.'
NOW YOU HAVE BECOME A PHYSYCOLOGIST? What else is there in your righteous repertoire?
The world agrees that Israel is a rogue, criminal state; the only thing that keeps you safe is the USA.
Your obsession in answering blogs in reference regarding anything concerning the criminal Zionist regime is amazing. Don’t you have a social life besides hating everything that is not Zionist?

miriam   July 18th, 2010 6:13 pm ET

PHYSYCOLOGY must be the discipline involving defence of reason against fiction!

proud zionist   July 18th, 2010 8:32 pm ET

Sharon   July 19th, 2010 11:30 am ET

Proud Zionist I have read this blog for months and I have never seen you expose a lie.
You write rants of hatred and refer to radicle Jewish blogs as proof. You don't want peace, you just want to hide behind Americas skirt and throw rockets at Muslim families.

You are the liar and falsifier of facts. You are the hatred spreader and the one who has no solutions.

Look up the facts you idiot. John A is right in what he says

Israeli leader Ariel Sharon was a former Irgun Israeli terrorist

Israeli leader Jitzhak Rabin was a former Irgun Israeli terrorist

Israeli leader Menachem Begin was a former Irgun Israeli terrorist

And today Tzipi Livni is a daughter of Irgun murdering Israeli terrorists.

So you see Zionist, its true Israel is a nation founded on murdering terrorists.

Zionist you have made a fool of yourself once more. Try learning before mouthing off!!

Fred Brun   July 19th, 2010 2:52 pm ET

Miriam you never reason but are good at anti- muslim,anti- christian hating rants.
A part of Psychology is, the subtle or not so subtle tactical action or argument used to manipulate or influence another.
The definition of psychology is actually the science that deals with mental processes and behavior. You should try some self-analysis!

miriam   July 20th, 2010 2:58 pm ET

Just thought you'd made up another "fact".

It's hard to differentiate between your spelling errors and your myths.

Lies, myths and propaganda are also used to manipulate and influence another, playing on those very mental processes and behaviour.

miriam   July 20th, 2010 3:22 pm ET

Neither Rabin nor Sharon belonged to the Irgun.

Livni has not been Prime Minister of Israel.

Many countries in the world were founded by the defeat of authoritarians, absolute monarchists and others by the murder of terrorists, assassinating leaders and negotiation.

Most new states and republics have been ruled by revolutionary leaders.

There are groups today who are using the same methods to gain statehood and extend caliphates.

Look at their leaders.

Fred Brun   July 22nd, 2010 7:38 pm ET

As usual you do not answer the points. You should not get personal; if I refer to every spelling error you make it’s a never-ending story.
The myth’s you make up. For example, July 18th it was revealed that Netanyahu in an unguarded moment on a video explained how he snookered Clinton and now Obama in believing that he was sincere about peace with the Palestinians when in fact he was not. He effectively bragged about his lie. This fact has now been reported by many of the major international news sources.
So much for your facts about the state of Israels intentions in the ME.

Yusil   July 23rd, 2010 6:31 am ET

Western governments are led by those who have the best interests at heart not only of their own people, but of other peoples around the globe and even of the planet itself. In Iraq, Tony Blair and George Bush made mistakes – they thought there were WMD when there were not; they misread the intelligence; they misunderstood international law – but they did not act in bad faith or actively pursue goals that they knew to be illegal, immoral or damaging to the delicate fabric of global relations. They are not war criminals, even when all the evidence shows that this is precisely what they are.

John A   July 23rd, 2010 11:13 am ET

Miriam, I'm sorry to bore you with the truth. Below your Israeli lies are correctly countered. Not by anti Semites, but by university historians, encyclopedias and United Nations sources. Its the difference between being educated and being Zionist!

Israel – Founded By And Living On Terror

Zionist-dominated mainstream media vividly portrays Israel as a tiny embattled nation seeking peace in a sea of Arab hostility. 1 Arabs, we are told, commit acts of terror while Israel only resorts to violence out of self-protection. The facts of history paint a very different picture.

Far from deploring terror, Israel has sanctioned terror to seize and expand its territory since its beginnings. In 1944, Zionist leaders in Israel faced two alternatives. They could continue to allow the British and Arabs to occupy Palestine, who would continue to pressure Israel to concede a Palestinian state. Or they could drive both British and Arabs out. Israelis chose the latter.

Members of the Zionist ruling elite and their clandestine terrorist enforcers–the Jewish Agency, Hagana, Irgun and the Stern Gang–began to exert every possible terrorist means to dominate Palestine. Their strategy was simple: the more respectable Zionist establishment would take the "high road" and officially disavow terrorism. Meanwhile, Zionist terrorists would commit any crime needed to disrupt British occupation and to panic Arabs into flight. The Encyclopedia of the Palestine Problem, available in most university libraries, documents from British records more than five hundred violent or terrorist incidents against Palestinians and the British occupation between 1939 and 1948. These included bombings, booby traps and landmines, kidnappings and torture of prisoners, bank robberies, murders of Arabs, and assassinations of police and British officials.

Chief terrorists were David Ben-Gurion, Menachem Begin, Yitzhak Shamir and later, Ariel Sharon. Begin headed Irgun, and Shamir led the Stern Gang. They cooperated intimately with the highest political body of the Zionist establishment, the Jewish Agency, and the popular Zionist resistance army, Hagana. Ben-Gurion headed Hagana and later the Jewish Agency.

After 1944–when Ben-Gurion formally rejected the British plan for partition of Palestine into Jewish/Arab states–most Israelis, particularly the young, favored expulsion of British and Arabs.

Here is the short list of Zionist atrocities from 1944 to the present:

· Assassination of Lord Moyne on November 6, 1944. Under orders from Yitzhak Shamir, terrorists of the Stern Gang shot Lord Moyne, British resident minister. Purpose: To drive the British from Palestine.

· The King David massacre, July 22, 1946. Begin's Irgun terrorists, with encouragement from Ben-Gurion's Hagana, blew up the King David Hotel in Jerusalem, murdering 92. Purpose: Destroy British records that proved the highest members of the Zionist government backed anti-British terrorism.

· British sergeants hanged, July 12, 1947. Begin, Shamir, and Haganah authorized kidnapping and hanging of two British sergeants, booby trapping their bodies and mining the area. During this time, Shamir sent many letters and package bombs to British officials. 1947 also included multiple cases of kidnappings (including brutal floggings of British soldiers) by Jewish terrorists.

· The Semiramis Hotel massacre, January 5, 1948. Jewish Agency leader David Ben-Gurion and Haganah leaders blew up the Seramis Hotel in Jerusalem, killing 20 and wounding 17. Purpose: Terrorize Arabs into fleeing Israel.

· Deir Yassin massacre, April 9, 1948. Begin's Irgun soldiers killed 250 sleeping Arab villagers at Deir Yassin, a suburb of Jerusalem. "25 pregnant women were bayoneted in their abdomens while still alive. 52 children were maimed under the eyes of their mothers and then were slain and their heads cut off." 6 "Menachem Begin, the leader of the Irgun gang, himself admitted on December 28, 1950 in a press interview in New York, that the Deir Yassin incident had been carried out in accordance with an agreement between the Irgun and the Jewish Agency and Haganah." 7 Begin was always proud of what he had done, considering Deir Yassin a legitimate military target. Irgun trucks drove throughout Judea, announcing by loudspeaker to hundreds of thousands of Arabs that unless they fled Israel they would meet the same fate. Deir Yassin and subsequent terrorist acts precipitated flight of more than 800,000 Arabs from Palestine. In town after town Zionist soldiers drove Palestinians out, usually killing any person who delayed or attempted to take any possessions with them. Arab towns were bulldozed, replaced with Jewish communities. 8 Begin comments on the level of Palestinian terror generated by Irgun's massacre at Deir Yassin. "Out of evil, however, good came. This Arab propaganda spread a legend of terror amongst Arabs and Arab troops, who were seized with panic at the mention of Irgun soldiers. The legend was worth a dozen battalions to the forces of Israel." 9 Israel exiled these unfortunates to concentration camps in Lebanon, the West Bank, and Gaza, refusing to allow them repossession of their land and property or adequate compensation. 10 This is the seminal cause of international Arab terrorism and the Mid-East conflict that rages today.

· Assassination of UN mediator Count Folke Bernadotte, September 17, 1948. This killing by the Stern Gang was on orders of Shamir. Purpose: To sabotage UN efforts to create a Palestinian state.

· Massacre at Dawayma, October 29, 1948. Israeli soldiers killed between 80 and 100 men, women, and children in Dawayma, a suburb of Haifa. Purpose: Intensify terror generated by Deir Yassin and compel the remaining Palestinians to leave Israel.

· Massacre at Kibya, October 14, 1953. In an atrocity condoned by the highest levels of the Israeli government and military, Ariel Sharon led 700 crack paratroopers to attack the Jordanian town of Kibya. They slaughtered 75 innocent men, women, and children primarily by locking families in their homes and blowing them up. 12 Purpose: Collective punishment to avenge the alleged killing of a single Jewish family.

· Massacre of Kafr Kassim, October 29, 1956. 51 men, women, and children were murdered by Israeli troops as they returned to their villages in the evening after work. 13 more were severely wounded by the gunfire. Purpose: Terrorize Palestinians into not siding with Egypt in case of war.

· Massacre of USS Liberty, June 8, 1967. Israel's jet fighters and torpedo boats repeatedly attempted to sink US intelligence monitoring vessel USS Liberty during the 1967 Israel/Egypt war. They killed 34 and wounded 171 American sailors. Purpose: Minister of Defense Moshe Dayan ordered the attack ostensibly to protect Israel's intelligence communications, even though the war was virtually over.

· Libyan airliner massacre, February 21, 1973. Straying over Israeli-controlled Sinai air space, a Libyan 727 commercial airliner was intercepted by Israeli fighters and, despite the clearest identification, shot down, killing 106. Purpose: Flexing Zionist power against Libya.

· Massacre in Sabra and Shatila refugee camps, Beirut, Lebanon, September 23, 1982. Gen. Ariel Sharon and Yitshak Shamir, in cooperation with "Christian" Phalangist forces sealed all exits and provided aerial flares, illuminating the slaughter of up to 2750 men, women, and children, according to a body count by the committee of the Red Cross. Purpose: collective punishment of Palestinians.

What About Arab Terrorism?

It was inevitable that Zionism's threatened and actual expulsion of Arabs from land the Arabs occupied from the seventh century should incur hostility even terrorism. Jews of Hebron were massacred by Arabs in 1929. The Arab revolt in Palestine beginning in 1936 resulted in acts of violence against many Jews, followed by anti-Jewish mistreatment during the 1948 war. Suicide bombings and rocket attacks continue against Israel in recent years.

Who is most at fault? Consider this: If someone, claiming divine right to occupy your house and land, drives you from them, condemning you and your children to a distant, arid concentration camp for generations, would you resort to violence?

There is only one word that describes the one who displaced you. Aggressor. The Palestinians, fanatical and terrorist as many have become, are nevertheless defenders of ancient rights and territories that have been horrifically violated. They are victims hitting back.

Becoming "Civilized" Terrorists?

During the past 40 years, Israel's continuing atrocities are justified as "collective punishment" of the Palestinian people. Israel's attack on Lebanon in 1982, described by Israel as such punishment, killed over 19,000 innocent men, women and children. Under Sharon's invasion of the West Bank under Sharon in 2002, whole villages were attacked with Hellfire missiles from Apache helicopters, with occupied homes shelled by tanks or bulldozed over. 4,185 Palestinian men were seized, beaten, jailed. The number of dead is still uncertain since Sharon would not allow western observers to document the aftermath. 17 Israel's present policies in the West Bank and Gaza, routinely killing large numbers of innocent men, women and children, remain full of atrocities.

I have also written about one of the greatest atrocities Israel still indulges in: the systematic and fiendish torture of many thousands of Palestinian prisoners, incarcerated, most without trial, in Israeli prisons.

After leaders of the Third Reich committed atrocities against the Jews during World War II, they were tried, hanged and buried, both physically and under the contempt of humanity. The opposite happened to the bloody and arrogant terrorists of Israel. Ben-Gurion, Begin, Shamir, and Sharon were all elected to leadership of the nation. This reflected the anti-Palestinian, terrorism-friendly mentality of many Israeli voters. 19 The Encyclopedia of the Palestine Problem documents, from United Nations records, more than 650 attacks by Jewish settlers and the Israeli military against Arabs between 1948 and 1998.

Shamefully, evangelical Christians have given uninterrupted support to Israel's terrorist leaders. Evangelicals believe God brought to birth the state of Israel by divine assistance at every stage. Actually, statehood (i.e. expulsion of the British and Arabs) was made possible by massacre starting at Deir Yassin. Yet there has never been an atrocity in Israel searing enough to alienate Christian idealism, or even prompt criticism from major evangelical leaders. Dr. Jerry Falwell said Begin was a "man of God." George Bush described Sharon as a "man of peace."

What kind of a god would establish a nation on terror? A god who is as evil as the devil.

10. Israeli propaganda says Palestinians did not flee because of pressure from Israel. Rather, Arab leaders, fearing Palestinians would be caught in crossfire between Jew and invading Arab armies, encouraged them to find temporary shelter in Lebanon and Jordan. It says that, considering their lack of loyalty to their ancestral lands and property, as well as the newly created state of Israel, they are worthy of neither repatriation, repossession nor reimbursement. Instead they should have been assimilated by wealthy Arab nations. The fact that millions remain in virtual concentration camps is the fault of the uncaring Arab world, not Israel. Israel also contends that after 1948 its hundreds of Jewish settlements were built, not on previous Arab villages, but on barren lands the Arabs had been too lazy to develop. Evangelicals accept these lies unquestioningly.
