  • Start of policy requiring those under 16 to be accompanied by adults after 6 p.m. at Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota.

  • World's Championship Chili Cookoff is held at the Reno Hilton in Reno, Nevada. At the same time, five downtown casinos are sponsoring their own chili-eating event called FireFest.
