From CNN White House Producer Sarah Ruth:

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- President Clinton is scheduled to travel to Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzegovina on Friday, July 30, to participate in the Southeast Europe Stability Pact Summit.

In a statement released Monday, Press Secretary Joe Lockhart said 30 leaders from the region will gather to discuss "ways to strengthen peace and stability, deepen democracy and civil society and promote economic reforms."

Lockhart added the United States is "committed to assist in the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia's reintegration into Europe, but only after there is a government in Belgrade that is committed to democracy, human rights and international cooperation."

The summit is sponsored by the European Union and hosted by the president of Bosnia.

Yugoslavian President Slobodan Milosevic was not invited to participate.
