MOSCOW (CNN)-- Police say a powerful explosion inside the
service elevator of the Intourist Hotel on Monday injured eleven
people.
The blast occurred just before 3:00 p.m. local time (7:00 a.m. ET), on
a floor occupied by business offices, breaking some glass. Police
were investigating if a particular office may have been the target.
Authorities tell CNN there was no fire.
Police searched for a suspicious car, a Lada, which sped away from
the hotel with four men inside.
The Intourist Hotel is located directly across from Red
Square. It caters to traveling businessmen and tourists.
