BRUSSELS, Belgium (CNN) -- NATO aircraft "mistakenly" bombed a
civilian convoy in Kosovo, NATO said Thursday, confirming Serb
reports.
"NATO confirms from its preliminary investigation that it appears
one of its aircraft mistakenly dropped a bomb on a civilian convoy
yesterday," the alliance said in a written statement.
NATO said it could not confirm any casualties. Serb reports indicate
at least 64 Kosovo refugees died in the attack.
NATO said there may have been Serb police or military vehicles in
and around the civilian convoy.
