March 27, 1999 (CNN) -- NATO forces began a new round of air attacks against Serb military targets in Yugoslavia on Saturday. The military alliance said the air attacks were aimed at crippling the Yugoslav army's capability to wage war on the ethnic Albanian majority in the Serb province of Kosovo. NATO member Britain warned earlier Saturday that Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic was not only defying peace demands by the international community, but was increasing "indiscriminate killing and burning" in Kosovo. Following three previous rounds of massive bombings, NATO says its aircraft are now increasingly targeting regional command and control centers of the Yugoslav army.
