MINSK, Belarus (CNN) -- It was a Valentine's Day to remember.
Three thousand couples in an unheated Belarussian stadium,
warming themselves with what they hope is the world's biggest
"kiss-in."
The Guinness Book of Records, which monitors such events,
hasn't announced yet if the populous pucker set a record.
The record to beat: 1,600 couples in Alcala De Henares,
Spain, last summer.
And for the record -- the University of Maine also tried to
break Spain's record on Sunday, but fell about 600 couples
short. The Orono, Maine, school had held the record (1,420
couples, set on Valentine's Day 1996) until the Spaniards
took it away.
