MOSCOW (CNN) -- It's Walrus Day in Moscow.

But no, there are no parades celebrating the tusked and bewhiskered sea mammal. These walruses are human, and they're swimming in freezing water, some for health, and some for the joy of it.

CNN's Steve Harrigan stands on the sidelines while those who aren't afraid of the cold take a frigid dip.
