MOSCOW (CNN) -- Given the political and economic turmoil in Russia, the annual Moscow Day celebrations in the capital took on a special significance this year.
The man of the hour, populist Moscow Mayor Yuri Lushkov, is a man some Russians believe should take the national stage and step into the current vacuum of leadership. Others, however, find Lushkov's potential rise ominous.
CNN's Eileen O'Connor takes a look at this Russian political force.
