Description of government structure:
  • Two political entities: Bosnia and Herzegovina is made up of two political entities, the joint Muslim (Bosniak)/Croat Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Bosnian Serb Republika Srpska (Serb Republic).
  • Bicameral parliamentary assembly: the Skupstina, composed of the House of Representatives and the House of Peoples
  • House of Representatives: 42 members directly elected by a system of proportional representation for two-year terms. Two-thirds (28) of the seats in the House of Representatives are allocated to representatives of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and one-third (14) are allocated to representatives of Republika Srpska.
