  • Assembly: Tajikistan has a bicameral Supreme Assembly (Majlisi Oli) that consists of the Assembly of Representatives with 63 seats and the National Assembly (Majlisi Milli) with 33 seats
Description of electoral system:
  • The president is elected by popular vote to serve a seven year term.
  • Members of the Assembly of Representatives (Majlisi Namoyandagon) are elected by popular vote to serve five-year terms. Members of the National Assembly (Majlisi Milli) are indirectly elected with 25 selected by local deputies and 8 appointed by the president.
