QUEENSTOWN, New Zealand (CNN) -- Bringing a bit of Irish flavor to a New Zealand pastime, an Irish woman celebrated St. Patrick's day Wednesday by bungee jumping off a bridge wearing little more than shamrocks.

After having several of the green, three-leaf clovers painted across her body, 29-year-old Lucy McLaughlin dove off a bridge in Queenstown, bouncing up and down above the water attached to an elastic cord.

"That sensation was worth 10 St. Pat's days -- that was amazing, I'll never forget it," McLaughlin said afterward.

After scraping off the green body paint, McLaughlin, who has spent a year in New Zealand, is scheduled to return to Northern Ireland next week.

Reuters contributed to this report.
