JAKARTA, Indonesia (CNN) -- The chants and screams of student protests have become the defining sound of an Indonesia in transition.

First, demonstrators wanted former Indonesian President Suharto out of office. Now, they want him put on trial.

As CNN's Maria Ressa reports, Jakarta's streets are being transformed into an open forum for discontent.
