JAIPUR, India (CNN) -- In Jaipur city, appearances can be
deceiving. Low technology, housed in small sheds, represents
a prospering and skilled regional industry that supplies
sparkling, expensive jewels to the world.
Roughly 100,000 people here cut and polish
emeralds, using skills passed down through several
generations. And, as reporter Anita Pratap explains, those
lustrous, green stones find their way to the most
expensive jewelry showrooms in Europe.
