CNN MultiChoice African Journalist 2008 Awards
Launched in 1995, the CNN MultiChoice African Journalist Awards are the longest running, and most prestigious Pan African Competition for journalism in Africa. The Awards and Competition aim to reinforce the importance of the journalists’ role in Africa’s development and to recognise journalistic talent across all disciplines.
The Competition is open to African professional journalists (including, but not limited to, freelancers) working on the continent for African owned media organisations or media organisations headquartered on the continent of Africa that produce a printed publication or broadcast through an electronic medium (television broadcaster; radio station or website) primarily targeted at and received by an African audience.
The Judges will be looking for work which:
THE DEADLINE FOR RECEIPT OF ENTRIES IS February 15th 2008.
Judging will take place in May 2008 by a panel of distinguished, independent judges with a knowledge and experience of journalistic practices in Africa. Panel members cannot vote on work entered by their organisation, employees or family members. Should the quality of entries fall below the standard required, the judges reserve the right not to select a finalist. The judges’ decision is final and binding. Submitted material cannot be returned.
