MASSAWA, Eritrea (CNN) -- The long-simmering border war between Eritrea and Ethiopia has flared again, with both sides blaming the other for the escalation.
Eritrean President Isaias Afewerke denies that his country started the most recent conflict, but he added that Eritrea will defend itself.
CNN's Catherine Bond spoke with the president in the Eritrean port of Massawa where he was marking the anniversary of a bloody battle nine years ago.
