DAR ES SALAAM, Tanzania (Reuters) -- Tanzanian police are holding five suspects in connection with the August 7 bombing of the U.S. Embassy in Dar es Salaam, a Tanzanian newspaper reported Saturday.

Citing unnamed police sources, the independent Guardian said one of the five suspects was the owner of a Dar es Salaam garage complex alleged to be the source of some components for the bomb.

Tanzanian police declined to comment on the newspaper report.

A U.S. Embassy official also did not comment on the report, but said the FBI's probe into the attack was continuing.

The car bomb attack in the Tanzanian capital killed 10 people and injured at least 70 others. A simultaneous bombing at the U.S. Embassy in the Kenyan capital Nairobi killed over 250 people and injured more than 5,000.

In late August, two suspected bombers were flown to New York from Kenya and charged with murdering 12 U.S. nationals in the bomb attack in Nairobi.
