China says women delegates are free to speak ... sort of

BEIJING, China (CNN) -- China says delegates to the world's largest women's forum are free to speak their minds ... as long as they obey the rules.

Security officials say demonstrations at an associated forum of non-governmental groups will be confined to a sports field, off-limits to the public.

The participants can say anything they want -- as long as they don't slander their host country -- China.

Israeli-PLO talks could reconvene next week

(CNN) -- In the Middle East, Israeli Foreign Minister Shimon Peres says he most likely will return to negotiations with P- L-O leader Yasser Arafat next week.

The announcement was made following a meeting between Peres and U.S. envoy Dennis Ross. Ross also met with Arafat in Gaza. The United States is trying to push along the negotiations aimed at expanding Palestinian self-rule in the West Bank.

Meanwhile, Israel is easing its blockade of Jericho which was sealed-off because of recent violence. Israeli officials say they will do the same in Gaza early Wednesday.
