WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio (CNN) -- Bosnian peace talks have collapsed, Bosnian Foreign Minister Mohamed Sacirbey said early Tuesday after speaking with American negotiators. "It got to the point where we didn't know where we were going any longer in the process and they decided to wrap it up," Sacirbey said. But Sacirbey's remarks were denied by Croatian and Bosnian Serb negotiators and a U.S. official said he could not confirm the report. It was not clear if talks would resume on Tuesday, one day after the U.S. State Department said negotiations would end, with or without an agreement.

A report of a new U.S-set deadline of 10 a.m. EST (1500 GMT) could not be immediately confirmed. Earlier, Sacirbey said the United States had called an end to the marathon talks, without any agreement being reached. But other diplomats said the United States had simply left the Bosnian, Croatian and Serbian delegations to negotiate on their own.
