(CNN) -- The American public is almost equally divided over
whether the United States and its allies should take military
action against Iraq because of the Iraqi government's
non-compliance with U.N. Gulf War cease-fire resolutions
calling for unimpeded access for international weapons
inspectors.
However, a majority of those 500 adults polled
between January 30 and February 1 say that Washington should
not opt for military strikes without the participation of
other nations.
