Elephants all dressed up and on parade

TRICHUR, India (CNN) -- More than 100 regally decorated elephants paraded through the streets of Trichur to the beat of drummers and the tunes of hundreds of traditional pipers.

The recent elephant march was organized to try to attract tourists to Trichur, located in the southern Indian state of Kerala. Folk dancers, dressed as colorfully as the pachyderms, added their best to the event.
