BEUS, Romania (CNN) -- Got empty champagne bottles after celebrating the New Year? Send them Ioan Cuc's way. He needs them to build his new home.
Cuc, a geological engineer in Romania, is wedging empty champagne bottles between the wooden beams of his unfinished house in the town of Beus. Cement helps hold them in place.
With hundreds of bottles already on their sides to form the walls, the building looks like an outdoor wine cellar.
Work on the two-story house had been delayed when the supply of bottles dried up. But Cuc isn't worried. As long as they keep making champagne, he's confident he'll end up with a roof over his head.
