1 killed, 4 hurt in Italy quake

Web posted at: 12:40 p.m. EDT (1640 GMT)ROME (CNN) -- One woman died of a heart attack and four firemen were injured Friday when an earthquake shook central Italy, a week after a pair of strong tremors rocked the region.
Friday's quake struck at 10:55 a.m. (0855 GMT) with a magnitude of 4.8. Its epicenter was the small town of Col Fiorito in the Umbria region, just six miles (10 km) from last week's epicenter.
Friday's quake sent people fleeing into the streets. The central Italian regions of Umbria and Marche have trembled with aftershocks since last week.
"The emergency continues," said Culture Minister Walter Veltroni on his way to Assisi. "The ground continues to tremble."
The tremors have taken their toll on the famed basilica of St. Francis of Assisi. Friday's quake damaged parts of the basilica's bell tower and a side wall.
In the quake a week ago, two sections of ceiling collapsed, killing four people and damaging two priceless frescos by Giotto and Cimbui. In all, 11 people died in last week's quake. No further damage to the frescos was reported on Friday.
Authorities took precautions throughout the area, evacuating the hospital at Assisi and canceling train service in Umbria.
Friday's quake increased damage from last week's tremors. In some villages, buildings that had been severely shaken a week ago have now collapsed.
